Facts:
This design-build project consists of a new 33,000 sf one-story Biotechnology & Science Building for the Solano Community College District, located on the Vacaville campus. The new building attaches to the existing classroom building and includes a biotechnology suite consisting of two biology labs with connecting prep space, an anatomy lab for both dry and wet work areas and storage, a chemistry lab with storage and prep spaces, faculty offices and student interactive spaces. Turley & Associates was the MEOR providing HVAC, plumbing and energy engineering, while working closely with our Mechanical Contractor partner. Mechanical systems consist of custom lab air handlers with heat recovery; supply/ exhaust valves; high efficiency chillers & boilers; VAV/CAV systems; vacuum, air, O2 nitrous, steam systems; process piping; and DDC controls.
