Butte Community College has recently completed another “state of the art” facility.  The 72,000 sq. ft. Learning Resource Center, Instructional and Faculty Office Building represents the campus’ commitment to energy efficient buildings.  The building is 23.8% below the State Title 24 Energy Standard for energy usage resulting in a rebate of $120,000.00 back to the district from PG&E.  The collaboration between LPA Sacramento and Turley & Associates has resulted in one of the most efficient buildings on the campus.  The system consists of two story custom penthouse units incorporating evaporative condensing, variable frequency drives, and high efficiency heaters.  The system consists of a double duct variable volume system incorporating occupancy sensors and demand ventilation.
